Finding a 40 year old shower cartridge was "mission impossible"--until I found Chicago Fauct. I sent a photo, they confirmed the cartridge I found on their site was the correct one and within two weeks, I had the new cartridge. You pay for what you get, but in this case, it was well worth it.
