The end was damaged where the screw goes in. So either it wasn’t packaged well enough or someone dropped it before shipping.

thank goodness Chicago Faucet Shoppe had available parts to repair 30 year shower valve. Once the cartridge that broke off inside the valve was carefully extracted, the rebuilt shower valve is working perfectly.

Staff at Chicago Faucet Shoppe went out of their way to figure out the Grohe part I needed for a 1995 shower thermostatic controller. Wife had just had kidney cancer surgery so it has taken me a while to get back to normal duties like doing this review. Today son and I installed the new part and it is a direct replacement ...works perfectly. Thanks to the staff for correct part.
