Mixing Valves

Mixing Valves

Have you ever gone to the sink or shower, turned on the water, and were immediately scalded by boiling hot water or frozen with an icy cold stream? Hopefully not. You might think that water in your pipes stays at a pleasant room temperature, but this isn't true. There is a hidden mechanism in your plumbing called a mixing valve that ensures you don’t get a nasty surprise when you turn on the tap.

What is a mixing valve? This simple device controls the temperature of the water by mixing both hot and cold water together. By turning the handle of a faucet or shower one way the mixing valve lets more hot water in, turn it the other way and you get more cold water. Without a mixing valve, you would have no control over the water temperature. Imagine how unpleasant a lukewarm shower would be. Without a mixer valve for the shower, this would be an everyday occurrence. Water mixing valves are required in most commercial lavatories since they ensure automatic faucets produce an acceptable temperature that is not scalding hot or freezing cold.

We offer a variety of valves from Symmons, T&S Brass, and Chicago Faucets for your commercial bathroom faucet setup. Whether you need a mixing valve designed for a single faucet or multiple faucets, we have you covered.
